Mac Meyers.
My secret crush.
Most unattainable guy on campus.
Relentless flirt (except with me).

Being friends with the guy on campus that everyone wants comes with its own set of problems.

None of us can eat in the cafeteria without being interrupted ten times.
Well, I’ve had enough.

So the most unhinged thing comes out of my mouth: I tell them to leave my boyfriend alone.
Except Mac is not my boyfriend.
Not even close.

Until he looks at me like I have the most inspired idea.

My name is Ophelia Forrest-Hammer, and Mac Meyers wants to be my fake boyfriend.
But I wish he was my real one.

Fee and Mac are best friends turn to lovers’ story and I’m here for it. Usually when I read these types of books there’s always miscommunication and assuming things that get on my (40-year old) nerves. But story was not that – both our Mcs were levelheaded (most of the time) and when things start to shift between them, they were open and honest and that made this story was it is – absolutely a must read.

Together they were sweet and understanding, loving and supporting each other even when they were scared what that means for them as an couple. I’m finding hard to put exactly how sweet this book was but if you’re looking a comfort read look no further because Helena Hunting as outdid herself with his one.

Mac Meyers Needs Me is book two in the Tilton University series. This is a friends ro lovers, fake dating, college sports romance, and it leans heavily into the emotional side of young love between Mac and Ophelia (Fee).

Mac and Fee are incredibly mature for their age… maybe even too mature at times. Fee 1000% lives up to her nickname Big Pheels, and these two might genuinely be the sweetest college couple in history. They support each other, respect each other, and have an equal give and take that made it feel effortless. It’s adorable how shy Mac can be, and how polite he is around Fee’s family. We get a lot of depth with her family and their college family, but nothing from his family besides his description of growing up and how they were, I would have liked to see some meetings and interaction with his fam.

They’re definitely couple goals. The book touches on the pressure of college, sports, sex, and life in general, plus the stigmas that come with all of it, but it never goes into heavy drama. This is a softer, more emotional story with little to no angst. Even the climax is just a small blip of miscommunication that upsets Fee.

Gage, though… I cannot wait to read his story and for him to fall hard. We see so many layers to him in this book, and I swear he might have a hero complex. And the cameos from Daddy Roman…Swoon!

Overall, this book is sweet, emotional, and easy to read. For maximum enjoyment, you should start with the Toronto Terror series and then move into this one so you fully understand the characters, their families, and the dynamics that carry over.
