Two rival Bratva pakhans.
One holiday.
Zero self-control.

What could possibly go wrong?

Five years ago, my daughter ran off with Yuriy Orlov’s younger brother.
I should’ve wiped the Orlovs off the map for that alone.

Instead, I’m stuck under the same roof with Yuriy,
playing nice for Christmas like we’re not one wrong move away from bloodshed…
or from me dragging him into my bed.

Because Yuriy isn’t just my enemy.
He’s reckless. Arrogant. Infuriatingly beautiful.
The kind of man who smirks like he knows exactly how far he can push me—
and gets away with it.

I should hate him.
God knows I’ve tried.

Because the only thing more dangerous than loving a Zhukovsky…
is wanting an Orlov.

“Yuriy, I said no. You’re not coming with me.”

He didn’t even glance my way. Just kept buttoning his shirt—crooked the first time because he was in too much of a rush to prove a point—then irritatedly fixing it while throwing me a glare.

Yuriy Orlov, in full defiance, was a natural disaster. Loud, dramatic, impossible to ignore. So loud, so dramatic that even my men, who’d survived everything from street wars to federal raids, found the floor or the ceiling or their own shoes absolutely fascinating.

They’d heard every word of our argument. Five times over. All because I was sleeping with the spawn of Satan himself who did not know the meaning of the word no.

“Stas, I’ve already decided.” Yuriy flicked his hair back, twisting it in a topknot like he had all the authority in the room. He clipped it into place, but by the time he dropped his hands, tendrils fell from the restraint, trailing down his neck. The style was messy but suited him, showing off his long, slender neck and the disturbing spider tattoo there that had grown on me. “I’m going.”

“You’re not,” I said because someone had to be the sane one here, and my men still looked so bizarre at the idea of Yuriy and me as a couple that they hadn’t said a word since I let them in. “It’s a meeting, not a parade. Mancini requested me. He didn’t request—”

“I don’t give a flying rat’s decomposing ass what Mancini requested,” Yuriy snapped and somehow managed to make it sound elegant. “I’m not letting you walk into some snake pit alone. For all you know, it’s a setup.”

I clenched my jaw.

“That snake is less likely to bite my head off if I don’t show up with another pakhan they didn’t invite on my arm.”

He shrugged into his jacket like he hadn’t heard a damn thing. “But I make perfect eye candy. Maybe he has a thing for pretty boys.”

I frowned, not liking the idea of Mancini setting his sights on Yuriy. I definitely didn’t appreciate the thought. Scowling, I grabbed Yuriy by his collar and pulled him into me. “You are not to flirt with him.”

“I won’t, you jealous behemoth. You worry too much. It’ll all work out fine.”

“No, I worry exactly the right amount. You worry not at all.”

“That’s why we’re good together.” He stepped into my space, eyes flashing. “You worry, I stab. Perfect balance.”

Christ.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Stas and Yuriy, two Russian bosses. Both strong and in control. They constantly test each other. Violent, unforgiving, as the blood flows freely, they revel in the chaos.

Yuriy’s brother and Stas’ daughter are in love and when caught, they run. Five years later both men are invited to Christmas. Stas’ daughter is pregnant and wants her father to be there. Yuriy’s brother will do anything for his wife so the two bosses agree to not kill each other for a few days. Christmas will never be the same.

This book was unusual. Holiday trimmings, blood, and retribution. Two men falling in love while reconciling their mutual hatred was half war zone, half sweetness. The sex is gritty, dirty, very inventive, and there was a lot of it.

At times I wanted to toss the book, and others I couldn’t wait to see what outrageous things these characters would do next. I took a couple of days to figure out my rating for the story. The enjoyment did outweigh the bad by a small margin.
