I was never anyone’s first choice. Until two monsters made me their only one.

One bad decision leads me into the woods and straight into the hands of two masked strangers who chase me through the dark, pin me down, and leave me questioning everything I thought I knew about myself.

Then I learn who they are.

Serpents.

And not just any Serpents, but six-foot-ten Hunter Kincaid and his other half, six-foot-eight Atlas Trembley.

Atlas gets under my skin like a splinter. He fights me, steals from me, and doesn’t care that I want to kill him. He’s counting on it.

Hunter doesn’t speak. He takes. He decides. And he’s decided on me.

They even call me Little Titan like I belong to them.

The worst part?

I want to belong to the two hockey players who fight over marshmallows and look at me like I’m the best thing that’s ever happened to them.

But Hunter’s past isn’t done with him. And when it threatens to tear us apart, I learn exactly what kind of monsters my Serpents are.

Monstrous Serpent by E.V. Olsen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hunter and Atlas, two halves of a whole, each others ride or die. But Atlas desperately wants Hunter but Hunter isn’t interested. Their extra curricular activities are bloody and dangerous And they need the release to survive…that, hockey, and Primal Play. Then they capture Cody in the game. All three lives will be impacted and not just on the ice.

I struggled with the first part of the book. Enough that I wasn’t sure I could keep reading it. But it started getting better and I began to enjoy Hunter’s gruff exterior, Atlas’ playfulness, and Cody’s insecurities. They slotted together like they belonged, and can’t forget Mr. Smooshy.

The backstory for Hunter and Atlas was grim. Once it came to light it made the story flow better. Once again the bad guys mess with the wrong men. Then, the other hockey players have a part in this.

Lots of players to keep straight, violence in abundance, and three men who bring it all together ultimately made this a good story.
