A sizzling and addictive romance from USA Today Bestselling author Brooke O’Brien about a football legend about the one girl he walked away from—and a past that refuses to stay buried…

Football rules everything in our small town. Under the stadium lights of the Gridiron, no one plays under more pressure than Zane Kinnick—the hometown legend and future NFL star who’s spent his life proving he’s built for the spotlight.

And me? I’ve always been the one risk he wasn’t willing to take.

I’ve loved Zane for as long as I can remember. My next-door neighbor. My brother’s best friend. The boy who swore I was off-limits.

For years, he kept me at a distance—until the night we finally gave in.

Then he walked away like it never happened.

Now, he’s done pretending. The stolen glances have turned into lingering touches. The tension we ignored is finally snapping. And for the first time, he’s tearing down all the walls he’s built between us.

But we aren’t the only ones holding on to the past. His rival is out for blood, using me and the people he loves to get inside his head, feeding him lies, and twisting the truth.

Because this rivalry? It’s not only about football.

It’s about secrets that refuse to stay buried. And when the truth finally comes out, it won’t just change the game—it’ll shake up his world.

ALC REVIEW

GAH, it was nice being back in this story! When the book published last year (2025) I was super excited to get it in my ears and here we are! YAY!

🎤Lee Samuels & Stefanie Kay🎤 have once again performed fabulously together and have made my audio loving heart explode with happiness! Not only have they been paired together in this series, but also many others and both as a team and as individuals, they shine brightly in their narrations. They work really well off of each other and do an excellent job with secondary character voicing.

The one “personal” thing I will mention, which has absolutely nothing to do with this performance, but if my review ever gets read by someone who can make a difference in this circumstance then I’ve given them my 2 cents. I’m not a huge fan of same narrators doing a whole series for a couple of reasons, but the main one is that it never ends well if I’m trying to “binge” a series. It never fails, but somewhere along the third audio, my brain just gets tired of the same voices and having to picture them in different roles basically every other day. So, a total ME thing, but kindly stop it. LOL

NOTE: You can find a detailed review of the story itself on the eBook’s page so go forth and read on if you’d like :)
