“I’ll tell you what, let fate decide.” I eye the slot machine nearby. “One quarter. I lose, I walk away. I win, you give me another kiss.”
“Slot machines are notoriously rigged against the player.”
“Then you’ve got nothing to worry about.”
“Are you a gambling man?”
“I’ve been known to take a risk on occasion.” I smile.
If she knew the kind of shit I get myself into, she’d run. But she doesn’t, so intrigue sparks in her eyes.
“I don’t even know your name.” She crosses her arms now.
“Hayes.”
No one calls me by my legal name. I don’t know why I even said it. I’ve gone by Soul as long as I’ve been patched into the club. But when she repeats it, all is right in the world.
“Hayes,” she says like she’s mulling it over. “I’m Emery.”
“No last name?” I don’t know why I even care. I don’t follow up with the girls I fuck. I’m a one-and-done kind of guy. And sure, that makes me an asshole, but it’s better for them in the long run.
“You didn’t give me yours,” Emery challenges.
“Fair enough,” I decide, knowing Ghost can probably pull everything I need to know about this girl later. “So, you in?”
“Just a kiss?”
“Just a kiss.”
“Okay.” Her eyes narrow. “One quarter.”
I grin, pulling one from my pocket.
We stop at the slot machine, and I hold the quarter between us.
She almost looks nervous as I stick it into the machine. My odds are one in a million, but she’s still standing here, so I figure they’re working in my favor. Pushing the button, the cards on the screen begin to spin. It feels like forever until they slow to a stop, one at a time.
“And here I thought you were lucky.” Emery laughs when I lose the hand just like she predicted.
I shrug. “You were worth the shot.”
“I’ll tell you what…” She reaches into her purse, pulling out two more quarters and smiling big as she looks up at me. “Best two out of three.”

Soul is book six and the final book in the Twisted Kings MC series. This is a motorcycle romance including the following tropes: falling for the enemy, one night stand,surprise baby, second chance, darkish MC romance .
This story centers on Soul, aka Hayes. Soul has always been somewhat mysterious through the series. He was always the reckless play boy, but if you’ve been paying attention he’s also the man who always puts everyone he cares about first and inserts himself to assist with their needs. The man is a contradiction. We know he’s lethal and has some deep rooted demons, but he has the biggest heart of all the men. He’s the first to have their backs, cheer them on, or vote in their favor.
Emery is a woman on the run. She’s been through a lot of traumatic events for someone as young as her. It took a lot of strength and courage for her to take back her own life and in doing so, she grew into a fierce, protective mama bear. She faces both her past and her future head‑on to reclaim the life she deserves.
Soul and Emery’s chemistry was pure fire. Seeing Soul finally open himself up and understanding what made him the man he is today was a long journey. Their story blends dark elements, spice, angst, violence, strong supporting characters, and several plot twists.
HOW is this the last book in the series already; *cries*. I can’t believe it’s already over! *cries some more*. The only relief is that Simmons leaves us breadcrumbs into the upcoming spinoff series so I know we haven’t seen the last of these Twisted Kings. And make sure to sign up for the extra bonus scene as there’s some breadcrumbs for a next gen series, at least that’s what I’m hoping ha ha!

ARC REVIEW
I am so thankful that I started this series when it was rec’d to me because I really enjoy MC romances and I really enjoy when they’re not pitch-black dark. There are elements inherent to the MC culture that will always make these stories range from darkish to pitch-black-dark, the choice is up to the author. This series as a whole has been steady in its darkness leaning more towards the light than not. Anywho, I appreciate that and it’s going to make it easier when I get my hands on the audiobooks and binge from the beginning!
Hayes aka Soul and Emery had a bang meet-cute (it sounds ridiculous to phrase it like that for an mc hook-up but *shrug*) that will change their lives forever, unbeknownst to them both. I really like that when they met, it wasn’t just a “wham-bang” kind of situation. I like that they sorta got to know each other a bit and laughed and made memories and I’m really glad for the last scene before “present day”. It was adorbs and thinking of an MC member doing that just gave me the giggles!
I also appreciate how the end of the series (but not the Twisted Kings) was also the end of a rivalry that has haunted the MC from the beginning. It’s one of those “full circle” situations that I appreciated it a lot. For that reason alone I shall repeat myself in saying these stories are not standalones and to fully enjoy them you should start at the beginning.
I can’t wait to see what Eva has up her sleeve for Venom and the Texas chapter of the MC! There’s nothing better than bikers, ranchers and cowboys coming head-to-head! Feel me?! LOL
