ALC REVIEW
Tempted by Eden is a sexually driven story that isn’t long or short. It was a well balanced story with character and relationship development along with sexual content (which is expected). The spice was spicing but it wasn’t over the top. For me, these stories can be tricky, and some authors just try “too hard” with the kink, and it ends up being all about that, but Jade May balanced well and before I knew it, this 8(ish) hour audiobook was finished.
One unexpected surprise was how my emotions got away from me. I was surprised because there wasn’t anything in the story that I didn’t expect to happen and when some of the circumstanced happened, my emotions still got me! It was a little weird. LOL But in a good way. Without giving spoilers it’s not like I didn’t know James finding out about “cough” would not turn him into a lunatic or sorts and cause him to overreact, but I still got upset. About fictional characters. And that isn’t even the only time! I don’t know how it happened, but I fell for Cora and James and everyone around them and now I can’t wait for more of their stories. Also, well played on the twin thing Jade May! That was not on my bingo card!
There are a lot of cliché “bad” circumstances that happen in this story, but there were also some pretty great ones as well. I came really close to not finishing this story based on some pretty ridiculous reactions James was having at 85% into the story but since authors won’t stop writing outlandish third act break-ups and I’m tired of fighting it, I persevered. I also persevered thru the fact that we get an outlandish third-act shenanigan just to come back from it a few pages later. STOP.IT. Okay then that’s that.
🎙️I learned something while listening to this audiobook and that is that I need to hunt down every narration that Sofia Lette has ever performed! I loved her! I know Aaron Shedlock’s power and talent, so he was not a surprise but Sofia and Sofia & Aaron, they were magic! That’s why the time flew by with this story. I couldn’t stop listening, even when I wanted to! 👏👏Round of applause for these two!👏👏 Well done!
