Cash Hawthorne helps people stay sober, not fall for them. That changes when he’s hired by Silas Hale, his girlfriend’s wild and unpredictable rockstar brother, fresh out of rehab.

For years, Silas lived for his band, drugs, and women. He’s ignored every warning, refusing to give up his partying ways until the night he almost doesn’t wake up. Determined to stay on track on tour, he hires Cash to be his sober companion.

Neither of them has ever considered being with a man, but living together twenty-four seven makes it impossible to ignore their attraction, and one night, a line is crossed.

A kiss turns into something more, and once they get a taste, they can’t stop.

Cash knows getting involved with Silas is a mistake. He’s supposed to help him, not crave him. And Silas is trying to prove he has his life under control, not unravel under Cash’s touch. But no matter how many times they agree it can’t happen again, they keep coming back for more.

When Cash’s contract with Silas ends, so should their time together. Silas continues touring with Surrender, while Cash is left wondering what comes next.

They both know they should move on. They know they should forget what happened between them behind closed doors.

But some addictions are harder to overcome than others.

Taking the elevator down to the lobby, I patted my back pocket, only to realize I’d left my wallet in my duffle in the hotel room. I jabbed the call button on the elevator, and the doors opened immediately. I stepped inside to head back up to my floor.

As soon as I got to the room, I swiped the keycard and pushed the door open, stepping inside without thinking.

Silas was on the bed, one leg bent, the other stretched out, his sweatpants kicked down near his ankles. His hand was wrapped around his dick, and his head was tipped back against the pillow as he ran his fist up and down.

I froze.

His eyes flickered open when the door shut behind me. Instead of panicking, instead of scrambling to cover himself or cussing me out, he just stared. His hand had stopped moving, but he didn’t release his grip.

I should’ve looked away. Should’ve apologized, grabbed my wallet, and left.

But I didn’t.

I stood there as something unspoken stretched between us as we continued to stare at each other.

Silas’s fingers flexed around himself, just barely, like he was testing me to see what I’d do. His gaze shifted down my body, then back up. “You just gonna stand there?”

I swallowed. “I ah … didn’t mean to interrupt.”

His mouth twitched as though he was fighting a smirk. “Doesn’t seem like you mind what you’re seeing.”

“You’re the one still …” I gestured toward him where his hand was still fisting his cock.

He finally smirked. “Does it bother you?”

I should’ve lied. Should’ve pretended I didn’t want to watch what he was doing. Should’ve remembered he was my client. Should’ve remembered he was my ex’s brother. Instead, I slowly shook my head.

Addicted to You by Kimberly Knight
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Addicted…”compulsively committed or helplessly drawn to a practice or habit”
Sober Companion… “a guide to help with recovery from various addictions. Providing both emotional and physical support”

When drummer Silas overdosed he heeded the wake-up. Smart enough to realize he needed help, he hired his sisters boyfriend Cash to be his sober companion. Their working relationship was very successful, however Cash’s love life took a dive when he found out his girlfriend was cheating on him. As the men drew closer they crossed a line into forbidden ground.

The ethics of their situation was addressed but pretty much ignored which created the angst in the story.

I liked that Silas’ band mates supported him unconditionally. I liked Silas and Cash together. It seemed that a sober companions job was handled correctly (except for the spicy bits). I liked the book but it just seemed to be a light version of the story. Drug addiction is dark and that just wasn’t portrayed here. I expected there to be more recovery I guess.

As a romance I did like the story though.

I received an arc of this book.
