My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The push and pull between our main characters was really good in this one. I loved Belle and Maverick together. They’ve had some bad blood since high school, though I’m still not sure why he was such an ass to her—but I digress. I really liked how she gave as good as she got. She never backed down from him, and when the chemistry finally exploded, it was fireworks for both of them.
Maverick, however, has some deep issues that are sometimes hard to ignore. Especially now that he’s finally got the girl and wants to protect her at all costs, those issues threaten to make him lose the only thing he has ever truly wanted. Luckily for all of us, he’s got a great support system with his family, that lead him in the right direction—toward getting his girl and living their happily ever after.
