I’ve never been a damsel in distress, so why does it feel like Dwight Boone keeps saving me?

I’ve known him since kindergarten, but I wouldn’t exactly call us friends. We tease each other, and most days, I don’t even think he likes me.

Even though everyone at work thinks Boone has a crush on me, I just don’t see it.

But when he rescues me from my two awful sisters, I begin to see him in a new light.

He’s protective and strong….and handsome.

I’ve had a disastrous dating life, and Boone’s has been virtually nonexistent.

He fights some internal demons on the regular, causing him to be isolated at times, and I have my own reasons for keeping a wall up around my heart.

After consistently being in each other’s lives for our last two decades, our relationship changes.

Perhaps we’re both just lonely… or maybe we’re destined to be the family we always wished we had.

The Destined Proposal by Greenleigh Adams
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This was my first book by this author, and while I read it pretty quickly, something just didn’t fully pull me in. Melissa and Boone, have been teasing each other since kindergarten, but when Boone overhears Melissa’s sisters talking down on her (that scene made my blood boil), he steps in as her fake boyfriend—and suddenly they need to play pretend that they’re in a relationship.

Boone struggles with anxiety and has never had a serious girlfriend. And here’s where my problem with Melissa started. In my opinion she didn’t deserve him whatsoever. He was such a lovely human through and through, would move heaven and earth for her, and she was awful most of the time towards him. But she had her moments at times, so she wasn’t all bad but still…i kinda wish someone else ended up with him.

Even though it didn’t completely click for me, it wasn’t all bad. This one is getting a good 3* rating and I’m looking forward to Duff and Emmy’s book!
