Every time I pick up a book by this author, I know I’m in for a cozy, uplifting romance. This time, we meet River, a former soldier with a big heart, and Nora recently divorced (did I say she is his former SIL?), and has unexpectedly became guardian to her adorable niece Pixie and toddler John, after her sister’s passing. When she’s betrayed by the man she thought wanted kids like her, she’s determined to give them the best Christmas. Enter River, who falls not just for Nora but the kids as well.
This story was about hope, healing, and second chances — not just in love, but in life. It’s the kind of book you can read any time of year when your heart needs a little reminder that love does win even when there’s heartbreak .
