If you’re looking for a warm, emotional read where we’re rooting hard for a second chance, this book is exactly what you need.
The story follows Marshall, who returns home after being in the army, with his daughter in the hopes of reconnecting with her. What better way to do that than a nice little beach cottage in a town that holds his favorite memories? But little does he know, one of his favorite memories is waiting for him in said cottage. Cue all the tension. Saylor and Marshall tried to deny all the feelings, but as time goes on and they reconnect, it’s impossible to stay apart.
I really enjoyed the father-daughter dynamic. Hayden is a true teenager, and she is giving Marshall a run for his money. But with Saylor’s help, they manage most of the outbursts, and I was really all in with this couple from the start. The chemistry between our MCs was sweet, and it was impossible not to root for them to find happiness in each other’s arms after all these years.
