Forgetting playboy Wells Silver was supposed to be easy. If only he didn’t make it impossible. Secrets are made on the sandy shores and in the sweet small towns of Silver Island, where friendships run deep, passions run hot, and the sexy Silvers are considered island royalty. Love in Bloom novels are written to stand alone and may also be enjoyed as part of the larger series, so dive right in and devour this fun, steamy romance.
Being born into the Silver empire comes with certain expectations, but charming restaurant owner Wells Silver has always taken pleasure in breaking the rules—in his personal and his professional life.
Victoria Braden never expected to become a widow at thirty-two, much less still be trying to figure out how to move on five years later. She’d planned to drown her sorrows in alcohol on what would have been her anniversary, not flirt with trouble and lose herself in a night of passion with Silver Island royalty, playboy Wells Silver. Forgetting Wells was supposed to be easy. But apparently the pushy player didn’t get the memo.

Flirting with Trouble: Wells Silver by Melissa Foster
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Victory and Wells made me happy. There are no other words to describe the feelings I had after finishing this book. I loved that Wells was persistent and made her take a chance on him. I fell head over heels for Victory when she pushed him away but then did the right thing and fought for him.
Their relationship, from start to finish, was perfect. I adored Wells for not blaming her for still remembering her late husband. He was cocky, but never too much. I wasn’t sure what to think of him after reading how he hurt Leni when they were younger, but this book showed just how special he really is—and I loved him from start to finish.
As for Victory – if anyone deserved a second chance at love, it was her.
As usual, I devoured this book in one sitting and wish it didn’t have to end. But I can rest easy knowing we’ll be seeing them—and the rest of the Silvers—again soon.

Flirting with Trouble: Wells Silver by Melissa Foster
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
It is always a pleasure to get lost in a Melissa Foster story and it’s especially good when it’s the beginning of a “branch” in her world(s). She just makes me feel happy when I read her stories. Even when there’s turmoil or conflict and even emotional upheaval, I feel ”good” reading her stories. Obviously, her style and I click, and we have for a long time, but I’m always a little bit surprised at how well we fit every time. I mean not every single time, but it is very rare that I do not get along with one of her stories. Her talent holds no bounds and as far as “feel good romance” goes, I honestly do not know another author that can deliver with the consistency that she does.
One of the aspects of this story that I really feel was well done is the progression of the relationship. I like that Melissa didn’t drag Victory’s apprehension about being in a relationship too far into the storyline. GAH, that always makes my eyes roll because when authors do that, it just makes the story conflict-driven instead of romance-driven and I much prefer reading about people moving forward in life and building “things” with one another than constantly push-pulling. It happened with Wells & Victory at just over the halfway mark in the book and that felt right to me. Victory has “lived” a lot of life in my opinion and her age doesn’t have anything to do with that circumstance. She’s had some bad hands dealt to her that she hasn’t been able to move forward from. Having Wells come into her life and forming a friendship (and more) with him is just the tug she needed to start taking steps in life again. Her past has held her hostage, even if she didn’t know it, but now, with Wells, she can see a light up ahead where there once was only a dark void. I know that sounds dramatic, but between her “age” and the “loss” she endured, moving forward and/or out of the comfort zone created can be a scary feat. But she does it! *heart eyes*
This story is sexy and flirty and extraordinarily uplifting. It’s about life and it’s good and bad circumstances. It’s about loss and grief and taking steps. It’s about friendships and family and a whole bunch of hope! :)
