OMG, my heart—what a story this was. I’ve felt heartbroken for Stevie ever since her ex did a number on her. She is a true hero in my eyes, and I loved how Marty cherished her despite what she called her flaws. The best part of their relationship was the pacing. I loved how they didn’t rush into anything, giving each other the time they needed to figure out how to move forward.
Marty was preparing for the fight of his life with a custody battle, and throwing Stevie into the mix probably wasn’t the best idea—but he’s drawn to her and wants to love her the way she deserves.
This is by far my favorite Kat Mizera book. I could go on and on about it, but I don’t want to give too much away. I’ll just say this: it’s definitely getting a high recommendation from me!
