This was a super cute story despite its heavy circumstances, and I love it even more because of it. It’s easy to drown a story that carries some of the circumstances this one did in angst and turmoil, but Nikki didn’t do that. It was emotional, and for those of you, like myself, who have experienced immeasurable loss, Kinsley background will hurt, but it won’t gut. This is me speaking of my experience with this story, obviously, yours might be different. My loss was not of a spouse, but of a child and the quote at the beginning of this book holds an incredible amount of truth to it. But I digress …

I couldn’t have conjured a better man for Kinsley than Shane. Well done, Nikki! Shane was a perfect match for what Kinsley needed to begin to let go and understand that letting go wasn’t forgetting or erasing and that she deserved more. I love that this was a single father trope because again, perfect for Kinsley’s circumstance. I loved their journey because it felt like a metamorphosize of sorts and that’s exactly what Kinsley needed, which in turn gave Shane exactly what he wanted! :)

The more I read by Nikki Ash, the more I like her! She knows what her stories need to develop and make sense, and she also is pretty darn good at grabbing your attention from the beginning of the story and keeping it throughout. I haven’t always loved everything I’ve read by her, but those are the odds when you read as much as I do. LOL This is one of the stories I love and if you like your stories with depth and emotion but not weighed down by them, this particular story is one for you.
