He steps into the room, his presence commanding attention immediately. My heart does a strange leap in my chest, and I can’t help the flush that creeps into my face.

I can’t breathe. My mind whirls.
Brienne looks around the room and she beams a lovely smile at all of us. “Welcome. I’m glad you’re all here.” She moves to the empty seat at the head of the table, but I can’t stop looking at Nash. He’s yet to see me, his gaze pinned on Brienne as he closes the door behind him.
“I know this was short notice,” Brienne says as she remains standing, her hands clamping down on the back of the chair before her. “I know we have a race to get ready for, but this meeting was necessary. I also wanted to show you the new Pittsburgh headquarters and I hope you’ll indulge me after this meeting for a grand tour.”
Her words slip into my ears but I’m still staring at Nash.
God, he looks amazing.
Different though. His dark hair is cropped short, his hazel eyes a little more lined with what one would assume were laugh crinkles since I last saw him three years ago, but it’s probably from pain and worry. His strong jaw, the familiar set of his shoulders, the way he holds himself—it’s like nothing has changed.
Except everything’s changed. We’re not the same people we were when we last spoke, when I last saw him.
I glance at his scarred hands, the brutal proof of how much he’s changed. My heart squeezes with empathy for him.
Brienne continues. “I intend to make this transition to Pittsburgh easy and it will be done over time. We certainly need to discuss logistics and I know there’s a burden with this sort of change. But before we get into that, I think everyone in this room knows my guest, Nash Sinclair.”
When he sees me, rather than sliding by with a polite smile, he remains riveted. He examines my face, as if searching for some sign that I’m anyone other than Bexley Toliver—former fiancée and heartbreaker.

I have been reading books by Sawyer Bennett for a few years now, and each one offers something new to love. Despite not being a fan of the F1 world, I find this series captivating.
Book 2 focuses on Nash and Bex’s story. Bex is portrayed as a strong woman working in a male-dominated field, fighting hard to maintain her position as chief race strategy engineer.
The book explores if they can overcome past issues and if their relationship can endure all the challenges that are in front of them. Despite her giving up on them for a moment, Nash was determined to prove to her that he’s all in with her, even if it means leaving the sport he loves behind.
It was fun to see Brienne Norcross in her element again. Her support of Bex was the icing on the delicious cake that was this book.

Sawyer Bennett at her best!
I’ve been reading and listening to Sawyer stories for a really long time and although they don’t always agree with me, there is never a time when I cannot recommend a story of hers no matter what rec someone is asking for. She’s brilliantly versatile in her writing that way and her word wizardry has won me over time and time again!
This Formula One series began with a bang and has continued to bang itself to one of my faves of 2025. The year is young, I know, but I have sense for these things. #trust
I love that Sawyer threw in multiple conflict plotlines into this romance journey. We have our MFC in a male oriented field conflict. We have our MCs in a workplace conflict. We have a history conflict between our MCs that isn’t just about getting a second chance, but growing from past mistakes. Their chemistry was fueled from all sides. From their attraction to animosity to respect to support to the sexy. It was everywhere and I loved it. This story truly made my heart happy!
I got to both listen and read Formula Chance and although I didn’t get to do it like I normally like, with a distinctive amount of time between both formats, I can tell you with great certainty that either format will give you the satisfaction you’re looking for if this kind of story is what you like. Every time I listen to Sean Masters narrate a story, I fall a little more in love with the man’s voice! His voice is absolutely perfect for any and all male voices AND he does an excellent job distinguishing his voice between different male characters. I can’t say he’s the best with female voices, but he did a really good job with Kit Swann. She is a powerhouse and together they brought this story to life for me in the best possible way!
