His best friend’s sister wants the one who got away…
Brian
Playing hockey has always been the most important thing in my life, until I punched out my former captain and walked away from the game almost a year ago. But when I get custody of my twelve-year-old niece, I realize I’m not equipped to care for a kid on my own. I need help.
I go to the one person I know will always be there for me, St. David Devil’s captain, Rowdy Lawrence.
The first problem… I’ve been lusting after his younger sister, Rain, for years.
The second problem… their other brother, Rebel, hates my guts.
I’ve missed the game and my hockey family. And I know the town of St. David will be a safe haven for my niece and me. But the sparks between Rain and I catch fire, and we’re caught in a secret affair that could split her family apart.
Rainbow
I can make any problem disappear. I’m a Type A workaholic who can fix anything. I’m also the only girl in a family of boys and, okay, I’m a little spoiled.
I’m used to getting what I want, and I’ve wanted Brian for a long time, long before he punched out my douchebag now-ex for being a dick to me.
Now he’s back, and he needs help. I am so ready to give him everything he needs…including me. But my family has big decisions to make about our team. Decisions that will affect all of us…and our misfit players.
Can I have everything I want…including Brian? Or will the game he loves and my devotion to my family tear us apart.

Rainbow Kisses by Stephanie Julian
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I really liked Brian. He was a good man who stepped up even when he didn’t need to and always tried to help everyone around him. As for Rain, despite making it their life’s mission to make everyone happy, no one did it when she needed something.
The slow burn between our MCs gave them time to really think about everything, before they jumped into each other’s arms. However, when Brian told Rain he needed to head back to help their sister, Rain’s withdrawal and refusal to hear him out about it not being the end for them made my blood boil. Brian wanted to make it work but struggled with pushing Rain or letting them go.
In the end, the family helped them see they were perfect for each other, and with the epilogue for Rebel, I’m more than ready for the next book.
