“You’re very beautiful in this dress, you know,” I said, my voice low and husky.
“T-thank you.” Her words were breathless, and a pretty pink flush suffused her cheeks, as if she wasn’t used to such compliments.
As I continued to stare into her eyes, her lips parted, her chest rising and falling a bit more rapidly. Was it my proximity, or the unwavering way in which I looked at her?
I asked no questions because it didn’t matter. Instead, I leaned in, pressing my mouth to hers, kissing her openly where she stood. Jasmine melted into me, a soft groan in the back of her throat that I was all too willing to capitalize on. Jasmine’s life was thrown upside down when she was 18. She was struggling with grief and found a lady who help her make something out of her life. She never thought being an escort would bring her the sort of stability she desperately needed. And just as she was thinking that she needed something new and more in her s life, she’ put in the path of someone like Eric.
He was older, sophisticated and his life was ruled by rules. Their time spent together brings them closer together and soon feelings they both thought wasn’t for them come rushing out in the open.
And just when you think things are going to turn out great, both their pasts come knocking, disturbing the fragile relationship.
And here is where my problem with this story is; I don’t like too much drama in my books. My eye rolling abilities are strong, and I was hoping that some of it would come in handy here, but instead she acted all grown up and took him back without so much as a proper sorry. The whole story plot was great, and I really like this story, but that ending felt a bit unsatisfying, not gonna lie.
