Thorns of Blood is book six in the Thorns of Omertà Series. This is an age gap, Mafia romance focusing on Giovanni Agosti and Liana Volkov. Their story contained a mix of violence, angst, plot twists, steamy moments, and was loaded with trauma. Please read the trigger warnings if you’re sensitive!!
Giovanni was patient, protective, confident, and loyal. He wasn’t afraid of his feelings for Liana and was all in almost immediately. Liana has been through an insane amount of trauma in her short life, starting basically at birth. I admired her strength and determination to survive. She really struggled with being vulnerable but Giovanni was encouraging and her perfect match.
Overall an entertaining and emotional read. It’s not necessary to read the other books, but highly recommend for maximum enjoyment as Winner’s intertwines many stories and characters. She’s consistently been laying Easter eggs when it comes to Dr. Freud, so I’m becoming more and more eager for her story.
