Malachi and his friends had a garage band in high school. He was very popular with the girls and enjoyed playing the field so he was surprised when he started developing feelings for his best friends brother, Jasper. They manage to keep their relationship secret but it wasn’t meant to be. Malachi goes to California to be a rockstar and Jasper goes to Paris to become a chef. Years pass before they meet again but they discover the feelings are still there.
I enjoy a good secretive romance. I thought that Malachi and Jasper were a good couple. Little bit of angst because of the secret part.
The authors created likable, believable characters that I was happy to get to know.
I never really felt the rockstar vibe. It seemed almost secondary to the story.
Mostly this was a story about the connections between family. Those they were born into and those they created.
I haven’t read any other books in the series but didn’t feel I needed them to enjoy this book.
