Ian is a hunter, assigned to be in charge of Marc, the demon ambassador from Otherworld. He’s not happy about helping Marc fit in with humans. “Marc, the higher demon who’s the main liaison between worlds, is such a pain in the ass that nobody can stand him”.
I liked Marc and Ian and was I was looking forward to their book. Their romance just didn’t seem to have much zing. I just didn’t feel their connection till the book was well advanced, and by then I’d almost lost interest.
As foils for each other, Marc’s snark is totally matched by Ian. I did like the numerous discussions about Marc’s wardrobe choices and Marc’s disdain for Ian’s choices dripped with sarcasm. They played off each other well.
The book had a so so mystery, bad hunter/demon aspect, but wasn’t as earthshaking as the demon Cato storyline. Because this book was set away from the farm, the ghosts, other than Uncle Norval, didn’t play a part which was disappointing.
This book is the start of a new branch in the series.
