Max didn’t expect to get a best friend when he walked into a gay bar. He is a homophobic butt head, desperate to reconnect with his gay brother. He decides to try and learn about “the gay culture”. Beau barges into his life and totally confuses him and agrees to “teach” him about being gay. I loved Beau. He stepped into Max’s life and took control. What I didn’t expect was that Max totally flipped the story and became the dominating factor in their relationship.

I thought their relationship was a slow build up of feelings for each other but at the same time it kind of felt like instalove. Redemption stories are hit or miss for me. The author gave me a sadly clueless, mean character I didn’t want to like but the magic he found with Beau was beautiful.

The relationship was charming, chaotic, physical, sensual and very intense. They ran roughshod over each other, and it was delightful for me and them.

I expect the next book to be just as good. Looking forward to Matt redeeming himself and since I don’t like Coop he’ll have to work hard to get my approval.
