ABOUT THE STORY:

You know what they say,
Opposites attract.

Goldie Hawn Berry has always been bubbly and fun, just like the woman she was named after. When a devastating trauma leaves her single, broke and jobless, Goldie loses herself. And when things come back into focus, she doesn’t like what she sees.

Atticus Winters is a forty-two-year-old no-nonsense mechanic with zero intention of being someone’s other half. He’s perfectly fine torturing himself over his past, and being grouchy to everyone around him.

When their friends become a couple, Goldie and Atticus are forced to be in each other’s lives. They both have healing to do but the similarities end there–with one grump and one ray of sunshine, these two are completely different.

But you know what they say, opposites attract.

The Brazen One is Book Two in the Wrench Kings series, and is an interconnected standalone.

🎧🎧AUDIOBOOK REVIEW🎧🎧

When you read a story about two people who are the very thing each other needs to find the light beyond their pasts, it’s a beautiful thing indeed! Goldie & Atticus are two such people and oh my weeping heart did their story make me bleed.

One of the best aspects of this journey, for me, was the none-traditional slow burn of the relationship. I say none-traditional because it wasn’t because there was no sexual content till forever (lol), which is what traditionally happens with a slow-burn trope, but because they took their time jumping all the way in and gave each other the time to trust before they did. Their characters called for that type of build-up and Daisy wrote perfectly in my opinion.

The trauma they both, but especially Goldie (imo), were holding was developed in an incredibly sensitive and healing way and I just want to burst at the seams and scream from the rooftops because too many times, authors insert circumstances into their stories without doing do diligence or giving them their proper due and it makes me ragey! I’m learning that Daisy is not one of those authors and 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 to you Daisy Jane!

I really *liked* this story a whole lot more than I did the first book but … ✔️ Hygiene people! and ✔️ Cucumber + anal is never gonna be a good idea. Full stop.

Listen, the book wasn’t perfect, but for me, there were so many circumstances that were very well done and fleshed out realistically that the not-so-good did not outshine the good, so there’s that :) I’d love to be able to round a solid 3.5 star experience to 4 stars, but in this case, I cannot. (I really hate arbitrary star ratings but the system is the system so what are you gonna do *shrug*)
