I started reading this story and had disliked Gabe immediately. He came off as not a nice man and he rubbed me off the wrong way. But color me surprised when the story started to develop and we got to see what makes him tick and boy by 50% I was swooning over him. He was not perfect and I loved that he did grow up from the young man he was when they were together before.
Harper is not having an easy few years. After losing her husband and fighting with his kids to keep the team, she doesn’t need additional complications. But spending time with Gabe has her remembering that not everything was bad when they were married. But letting go of all resentments is not an easy task for both of them and I loved that despite having to take a few days to rethink things, they talked about the problem and we’re both willing to put in the work for them to work out this time around.
I loved this book and I’m looking forward of the continuations of this series.
