“I almost kissed you.” His voice isn’t more than a whisper.

My eyes momentarily close and a fresh stab wound opens from this man. “Please. Please, don’t say that.”

A kiss would have been harsh and hasty, but it still would have been a kiss. Unwarranted passion rips through me, threatening to tear me in two. Talk about second chance – these two have a complicated past which has left them both (a little) broken. Life got in the way and 20 years have passed. Even though both have moved on, you never forget your first love. Life has brought them back into each other’s orbit and this time around Knox is not going to let them fail. He’s taking his second chance with everything he’s got.

Halle has had her heart broken one too many times. Her walls are up high and she has her kids to consider now. Getting involved with Know is not a good idea. But with everything falling apart maybe spending time with her fist love and getting closer will bring her peace she’s been looking for for far too long. But when life throws them another curve ball will their love be strong enough to endure it or will it cause her to run like she’s been doing far too long?

I absolutely love the realness that is this series. Maybe it has something to do that the MCs are my age and i can relate to all the struggles they have to overcome or maybe it’s just how skillful L.B. Dunbar is with her word. Either way I’m a huge fan and will happily return to this small town with the next Sterling getting his or her HEA.
