I’m trying so hard to find the right words to explain my thoughts about this story. One thing is for sure I’ll NEVER pick up this author ever again. This book made me a sobbing mess from start to finish. And If there is one thing I hate is crying. The only saving grace is that nobody was around to see me having a meltdown over a book.

This story felt so real on so many levels. The way she worked out her emotions internally, putting everything and everyone before herself was something a lot of us can connect with. To tell you the truth I feel like if they separated it would be the best. I felt like they did not tackle most of their issues and resolve them so they could move on.

Dustin made me angry more times than not. It kept coming back to her job being the main issues but there was resentment there for the both of them that was not explored. And while this book was not the explosive HEA I’m used to, it did its job so I can’t complain (too much) about that. It felt too real for my liking and that just shows what a master of words Christy Hayes is.

MEET THE AUTHOR: I started this adventure called life in Northern Virginia. Thanks to a large computer company whose initials spell I’ve Been Moved, my family relocated to New Jersey, back to Virginia, to Florida, and finally to metro-Atlanta where my dad shuffled offices and the family stayed put.

After college at the University of Georgia (go Dawgs!) where I met the hero of my love story, we settled into the American dream with two kids and a menagerie of adorable dogs. We’ve added a couple of horses to round out the mix.

With no more kids in the house, I spend my days cooking up all kinds of trouble for my flawed characters when I’m not walking my dogs at a local park, binge watching TV with my husband, or wondering when my kids will call their mom.
