When Taryn introduced me to Christa Alvarez, she was just what I needed at the time, until I realized she deserved better, and in the state I was in, I was no good for anyone. Especially someone like her.
Until one day, she’s exactly where I thought I’d never see her, but she doesn’t know it’s me.

This is my first read by the author and even though this didn’t blown me away I think I’m gonna come back as there were a part of this story that were good.
Eric and Christa have started seeing each other and at the beginning though it would be a little no strings affair, but spending time together makes them fall fast. But Eric’s past awakens his feelings of not being enough for her and he leaves her in order to protect her I assume. And here’s the tricky part for me: they don’t see each other for half a year and he comes back and despite knowing he loves her, he doesn’t make a move to talk to her. And when he finally does she forgave waaaay too quickly for my liking. I totally understand his reasoning but still.. Too damn fast.
Both MCs have flaws and are quite realistic so maybe that’s what’s bugging me because I can’t turn off completely that this is only fiction and it’s messing with my mind.
Ps: I really don’t like his sister and her BF.. She kept saying she was fiercely loyal but watched both her BF and brother suffer because she was protecting them?! Yeah NO! I’m blaming her for the low rating because someone needs to be the bad guy😜
