ABOUT THE BOOK:

Of all the people who could have seen me when I was at my most vulnerable, it had to be him.

Caleb. My stepbrother and the golden child of our messed up blended family. We barely know each other, but for some reason he takes care of me when an incident at the club leaves me helpless and alone.

He hates me as much as I hate him, but something about his bossy attitude and unflappable calm soothes me. I don’t want to want him, but no one has ever made me feel the way he does.

Hooking up with my enemy is stupid as f*ck. So is breaking my rules for him. I know this, but whatever is between us will eventually burn out and I can go back to my solitary life and forget all about how amazing it feels to let someone else take control.

Gray and Caleb’s story is an enemies-with-benefits-to-lovers romance between stepbrothers who discover that sometimes the person you hate is the only one who can give you what you need. Expect lots of steamy encounters, tons of dirty talk, and reluctant feels as these two enemies learn the truth about themselves, and each other. It is the first book in the exciting new Crimson Club series but can be read as a standalone.

Stepbrother Dearest by Willow Dixon
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Gray and Caleb, stepbrothers, and enemies, even tho they haven’t spent any time with each other. Grays dad, Caleb’s stepdad, played them against each other till they couldn’t help but hate one another. When Gray is seriously hurt and finds that Caleb is his nurse, they just have to deal. Gray can’t be on his own and Caleb’s ethics won’t let him turn his back on someone who needs his help.

The heavy angst seemed overwhelming at times. The inequities in their circumstances played well the their individual strengths and weaknesses. Although I felt Gray was the stronger of the two he also seemed weaker at times. The author did a good job of making the relationship level out. Letting each man have the control that they needed. Their interactions were very spicy.

Gray’s coworkers and family were a hoot. So many vibrant personalities.

I like this author.

MEET THE AUTHOR: What can I say about myself? It’s kind of like being the new kid in school and being asked to tell everyone a bit about yourself. Anyone else forget everything they’ve ever liked, thought of, and even their name in those moments?

A few facts about me; I’m a veteran, I’m Canadian, and I love books! I’ve been writing my own stories since I was eight and wrote my first novel at sixteen. I’m the first to admit those attempts weren’t my best work, but they started me on a journey of creating stories that has led me to fulfilling my dream of becoming an author. I’ve written and published in several genres under different names, but MM is by far my favorite, and I’m so happy to be able to share my stories with people today.

I currently live on Canada’s east coast with my kiddo and my cats. I have a shoe collecting addiction, and I enjoy taking long walks, discussions with friends, and reading anything and everything I can get my hands on.
