Max Monroe why have you kept this from us for sooo long.. I absolutely loved both main characters. But it also needs to be said that all the side characters gave that something else to this book and it made it that much better.
Brooke and Chase made me so happy. The banter was on point and made me laugh out loud more than once. From the way they wanted to fight the attraction to the way they ended up together. The slow burn was insane. I’m not even mad about it. Her quirkiness was beyond adorable, and Chase’s ability to make her feel at ease in her own skin was what I loved most about him. I’m not even mad about the little drama we got towards the end of the book. Everything was worth it by the time we read THE END.
Now for the love of God do not let me wait this long ever again.. We need more Max Monroe books in the wild.

OVERALL: Lawd! That was a long one! LOL
I am ridiculously happy that Max Monroe LLC via NetGalley afforded me the opportunity to experience this ridiculously fun and quirky romance full of laughter and spark and heart!! I really enjoyed this but I have to be honest here and say that had I been reading this story, it might have taken me way longer than it did listening to it. How much longer, who’s to say, but it wouldn’t have taken me mere days to finish :) do with that information what you will :)
PERFORMANCE: I’ve always enjoyed listening to Joe Arden narrate a story in the past, however, the last few listening experiences I’ve had with him as the narrator have been very rushed. It’s like he’s speed talking his way thru the story and that’s especially twitchy to me when there’s any inner monologue (which there is a lot of in this story). It’s just frustrating for me and really decreases my enjoyment of the audiobook. Accidental Attachment is a 13-hour story that tested me but the enjoyment from the storyline got me thru :)
CJ Bloom brought Brooke to life for me perfectly and did an exceptional job with all her voices throughout the story!
STORY: I’d love to say that this is a story deserving of its almost 600 pages and/or 13-hour audio, but it really isn’t. I’m not a fan of adding plot points or circumstances into a story that don’t move a story forward or (and this one makes me super twitchy) inner monologues and descriptive texts that seem to go ooooooooonnnn and on and when you get to the end of them you realize it all could have been conveyed in three sentences. That’s an off-the-cuff example of what happened in this book way too many times, in my opinion. And you know what happens when I encounter too much of this ….. yeah, skip/skim begins *sigh*
But here’s the thing, this was a super cute story and even though I admittedly did skip forward on more than a few but less than a lot, occasions, I enjoyed it overall! I KNOW, super bizarre but it is what it is.
✔️ unique storyline you don’t see often
✔️ perfect tropes matching the characters and what they would need (because of their personalities) to break thru the quirky and have a relationship
✔️ low on the angst meter and high on the humor meter
✔️ friendship development, which again fits perfectly with their personalities (on the flipside of this thought is that the romance took a backseat (or it felt under focused to me) and I honestly connected them more as good friends as opposed to romantic friends …
✔️ On the flip side of the above bullet point is that slow burn is actually the only way these two would have worked in my opinion and when they did get steamy with each other, they got steamy! *wink*
✔️ Benji … I mean … #cuteness personified!
Okay, so I could go on and on and list a whole bunch of other circumstances in this story but then why the heck would you read your own copy if I did that lol, so enough about all that! If you don’t mind your stories on the lengthy side and like romantic comedies, this might just be a fit for you! Go forth and enjoy!
