Thomas/Zane knew he shouldn’t seek out the human he was bonded to. A distance of five years hadn’t dimmed his feelings for Eric. Eric didn’t remember the man who had comforted him on the worst day of his life but he felt a pull towards him nevertheless. One amazing night and he was alone again. When they meet again and Eric starts to understand the truth of what Zane is he still can’t fight the love between them.

I did enjoy how Zane wasn’t really the strongest one in the relationship. I expected that with his age and his guardian of earth status that he would be the one to wield the power but it seemed that Eric was the alpha (for lack of a better word).

Angsty at times and sweet at others (with a bit of blood thrown in) this book had a bit of everything to make the reader happy.

As seems the usual for a first book in a series, I have many questions. The plot was intricate and at times cryptic. I assume that some of my questions will be addressed in the next book but I’m equally as sure there will be just as many questions as answers.
