Amelia is a great heroine. She is chasing her dream, and unexpectedly gets thrown together with Dash after years of no contact. She’s a strong woman, she tries to keep it professional, but the pull between the two cannot be denied. Dash is messed up, but manages to hide it, to a point. He functions, but has issues. You can feel the push and pull in his head while you’re reading. It’s confusing, but in an exciting way. A way that keeps you interested and unable to stop reading until all the secrets, along with Amelia and Dash’s fate, are revealed.
The Boy Next Door is well written and while it felt a bit slow at points, it fit the story very well. The characters are developed and have multiple layers. I would recommend this to the reader looking for an angsty romance, that makes you think and feel.
