The Australian by J.O. Mantel
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Deacon loses his job, his home and gets dumped by his rotten boyfriend. When he’s offered the chance to star in a reality show he can’t say no. One year, twelve men, with a prize of twelve million dollars if he can resist falling in love with one of the contestants. He can do that, no problem.

Deacon meets Steve, a sexy Australian, maybe it won’t be so easy after all.

Interesting premise for a book. Even though this was a short story most of the characters were well defined. I felt like I had a really good understanding of Deacon’s character and why he chose to do something so outside his comfort zone.

I do like my happy ever afters so I’m not sure how this will play out. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see.
