About the Taming the Pack Boxed Set:
Sometimes a wolf is all you need.
What do you get when you mix Alphas and sheriffs and park rangers? Three sexy tales of wolf shifter romance from the talented Wendy Sparrow sure to keep you up past your bedtime! With one click, immerse yourself in a rich world of danger, intrigue, a little humor, and more than a little heat.
Past My Defenses
After a feline danderbomb takes Vanessa down, she wakes up naked in a cage staring at a hot park ranger who has no idea what he’d trapped. Dane Hansen had hoped to tame the silver wolf in his kennel, but all bets are off with the deliciously sweet Vanessa on two legs. They’re hot as a forest fire even before they scent-match. Meanwhile, Lycans are being poached, and Vanessa has been targeted. Dane will have to keep her close to protect her, but with Vanessa in heat and mad to mate, who will protect him?
This Weakness for You
Jordan Hill is his pack’s Alpha wolf, and after his last breakup, he’s opting to be the lone wolf, too. But when his rival’s little sister—a human—comes to his door, what should be a tasty snack turns out to be something more than Jordan could ever imagine. Christa Hansen is simply looking for a place to stay. Yet the dark shifter smells irresistibly like forever. But getting involved with the wolf who tried to kill her brother—twice—is lunacy. Falling for her family’s enemy won’t just be her downfall…it will be his, too.
Crazy Over You
Waking up with a naked woman holding a knife at his throat is just about the last thing Sheriff Travis Flynn expected. And the brother she’s looking for? A murderer. And dead. Probably. But the real shock comes when she insists she’s not a Lycan. Once LeAnn Wilcox finds her brother, she’ll get out of the pack’s territory and go back to her regular, nonfurry life. But LeAnn’s life is at stake if she won’t claim her place in the pack, especially once Travis’s control over the pack is challenged and her brother’s fate is questioned.
Past My Defenses:
She’d be having mutts.
And all because she’d gone out on patrol. Because her Alpha insisted.
She tried not to glare at Jordan. She failed.
Really, this was his fault.
He lifted an eyebrow. “Should you be mixing caffeine with all those drugs you took?”
She held up three fingers. “First, do you have any idea of the pollen count right now? I can see it. My car looks like I spray-painted it pollen yellow.” She dropped her ring finger. “Second, my stubborn Alpha sent me out to patrol so I didn’t take any meds last night, but I thought as long as I didn’t run across any cats, I might survive.” She dropped her index finger, leaving her middle finger extended. “Third, I ran into a cat. It jumped at me out of the bushes, attached itself to my snout, and rode my face like I was a rodeo bronco. A stupid cat nearly killed me.”
He stared at the extended finger.
Rolling her eyes, she folded her arms. “And the only human I ran across was the one who probably saved my life. He carried me back to his place and gave me meds—so I think my particular hunt for ‘anything unusual,’”—she gave the words air quotes—“can be called an unmitigated disaster.” Other than she’d found something unusual and now she was mated to it for life. For life. Freaking Alphas.
This Weakness for You:
“And then there’s this…” He took a step back and shifted. One minute, he was a man—the next, a large black wolf beside a pile of clothes.
Christa’s eyes widened and she stared. “Oh, well…” Then, she wrinkled up her nose and tilted her head. “You know, I’d actually considered that, but there’s no way to ask that without sounding insane.”
The black wolf stared. Jordan’s primal intelligence had been expecting panic and shock. This amused acceptance was…confusing.
His mate scooted farther back in the bed with a yawn. “So, now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, can you stay?”
He didn’t move.
His female leaned forward and whistled while patting the bed.
There was a brief fight between his stubborn human intelligence and the instinctual desire to be with his female. Also…she’d just whistled. His pride couldn’t fight the altered primal mind-set. Mine. Mate. Mine. The black wolf jumped on the bed and lay down beside her.
“See, only you were making it complicated,” she said on another yawn before she leaned down and grabbed a blanket at the foot of the bed, which she pulled over them. “I hog the blankets, so you’ll need to steal them back if you want them.”
Crazy Over You:
“Hello. Sheriff’s department. How can I help you?” a woman’s sweet voice answered on the phone.
“Yeah, my name is LeAnn, and I have a naked man on my front porch claiming to be your sheriff.”
Yes, she did, and he was standing there as naked as the day he was born, and he was right—he was irresistible. Her grip on the phone and the mug were near shattering them. “Are you sure?” the woman asked.
“Yes, would you like a description?”
“Um. Maybe. I don’t know. Are you sure it’s Sheriff Flynn?”
Travis had his arms folded and was shaking his head back and forth. He also seemed to be fighting a smile. He’d asked for this.
“Well, let’s see, shall we? He’s well-built.” It was hard not to inflate his ego while still being honest. “Looks like he lifts free weights. Definitely a runner. Nice ass. Real six-pack abs. He’s got the whole…uhh…package. Oh, also, he’s got a sweet tattoo. I don’t know how you feel about tattoos, but this is some sexy ink. Looks like an R, but also a wolf.” It figured a Lycan would have a wolf tattoo.
Grinning, Travis bent down and grabbed his clothes… and not a moment too soon. She was seconds from tossing the phone and the mug and jumping through the screen door.
“Hm, looks like he’s getting dressed again. Never mind.”
“Did you want to file a complaint?”
“Oh, there’s definitely nothing to complain about.” Well, it was a shame he was getting dressed, but it was really just as well.
Taming the Pack Boxed Set by Wendy Sparrow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is a set of 3 paranormal romance novels from the same series. They each feature a sexy lycan and an irresistible human. Each book focuses on one couple, but features characters from all the books. There is a bit of humor, suspense, love and off the charts chemistry in each book.
I had a lot of fun while reading these books. Taking a step into a world with shifters and mates is always a blast. The writing is entertaining, the stories are well rounded and paced quickly enough that each story is a one sit read.
