Strong Signal (Cyberlove #1)
I was counting down the months until the end of my deployment. My days were spent working on military vehicles, and I spent my nights playing video games that would distract me until I could leave Staff Sergeant Garrett Reid behind.
That was when I met him: Kai Bannon, a fellow gamer with a famous stream channel.
I never expected to become fixated on someone who’d initially been a rival. And I’d never expected someone who oozed charm to notice me—a guy known for his brutal honesty and scowl. I hadn’t planned for our online friendship to turn into something that kept me up at night—hours of chatting evolving into filthy webcam sessions.
But it did. And now I can’t stop thinking about him. In my mind, our real life meeting is perfect. We kiss, we fall into bed, and it’s love at first sight.
Except, like most things in my life, it doesn’t go as planned.
*Strong Signal is a standalone, full-length novel with no cliffhanger*

Honest to God ……… flawless #TRUTH
This was a really hard review for me to compose. I’m not sure I even know where to begin. I don’t know what feeling to tell you about first, because there were SO many. Not only was this story flawless, but it took me to a place of euphoria when I read it. And I’m not sure I can find the proper words to convey what is in my mind and heart to all you future readers, but I can only hope you trust me when I say …
THIS IS A MUST READ!
We’ve all read good stories. We’ve all read great stories. But very few people have read stories that lift their spirits from page one, because such stories are very far and few in between. Stories that have you soaring to heights barely ever even scraped by most authors. Strong Signal is one of those stories. Santino Hassell and Megan Erickson took me on a flight that I haven’t traveled too many times before. The story they told was, in one word, #fridiculous 🙂 Their voices worked together seamlessly. I’ve read both their works before and I couldn’t tell who wrote what and I didn’t care, because it was all perfection. Everyone from our leads, Kai and Garrett, to the very instrumental secondary characters like Constigan and Shawn (what an incredible young man), Kai’s online posse, and of course, Garrett’s mother and sister. This cast of lunatics had me crying one minute and laughing my butt off the next. It was an incredibly well wrapped package 🙂
Anxiety disorder is debilitating. It can take the strongest of people and shrivel then down to nothing. It can completely shut you down and make it impossible for you to function. And it can kill you. And the struggle is very much real. I know, I have to fight it every second of every day. I think maybe that’s how Kai nestled in my heart and just took residence. Although I do not suffer from social anxiety, I do suffer from panic disorder. I relate to Kai. Everything he felt and everything he went thru in this journey just tore me apart. There were so many times I wanted to reach in my kindle and just hold him …. I want to take a moment now and thank both Megan and Santino for getting it right. On behalf of everyone out there who suffers from any kind of anxiety, I thank you. Thank you for making sure the struggle was felt properly thru your words. And thank you for gifting us with an incredible story of love and hope.
I’m gonna tell you right now that if you can’t think outside the box, you may not get this story. Oh, you may like it and you may even enjoy it, but you aren’t going to get it. In order for you to get the full experience that is Strong Signal you have to believe in the possibility of online relationships. And I’m not talking about meeting people on dating sites. I’m talking about forming a relationship via cyberspace and it being very much real. As real as if you’d met offline and interacted every day for months. THAT real. And believe you must, because it can happen. It did happen. It happened to Kai and Garrett.
There are three significant journeys in this story. Garrett had a journey. Kai had a journey. And Kai and Garrett together had a journey. All three of these journeys took place in this book simultaneously and seamlessly and I am in awe. Not a single factor of this story was neglected or swiped under the rug. And while three journeys of growth were taking place, there wasn’t a single time that one overshadowed the other. And the best of the best is …. Although baggage and angst does surround Kai and Garret, never once was their journey to love and HEA ever overshadowed by it. MAD PROPS, i tell ya, MAD!
I would be remiss if I didn’t take a few moments to talk about the ridiculously scorching hot sexy shenanigans going on in this story. Even before anyone meets face to face. God Almighty my girlie parts got a work out reading this story! #TRUTH (i may or may not have read some scenes more than once … yanno, for research purposes lol)
So I leave you with this … read this story because it was written by two authors who have proven time and time again that their greatness has no bounds. Read this story because it’s a happy story, it will make you smile, it will make you cry, it will give you faith in humanity and it will show you love, in its purest and rawest forms.
And, it’s good, really REALLY good. #TRUST 🙂
