The perfect package of brains and brawn, Zach is someone worth coming home to, and Fisher hates keeping him in the dark about what he does. But the lies keep Zach safe. Until the day Fisher loses everything. . . .Zachary Allen is no innocent civilian. Although he plays the tech geek, in reality he’s deep undercover for the CIA. In a horrible twist of fate, the criminal enterprise he’s infiltrated has set its sights on the man whose touch drives him wild. Zach would do anything for Fisher—except blow his own cover. Now, in order to save him, Zach must betray him first. And he needs Fisher to trust him with all his heart if they want to make it out alive.
This story really starts out with a bang. The suspense and action that unfolds is ridiculously shocking but at the same time predictable. I already knew going in that both MCs were not going to be who they thought they were … it is, after all, a spry romance. What I was not expecting was for it to fizzle so soon. The intrigue of the whole thing just flashed away like a firecracker … BOOM and it’s gone. So now we have the middle of the story where …. and I have to admit that I may have put my kindle down a few times before finishing this story. But it was only due to characterization. The whole spy agent did not ring true in a lot of this story. I can’t really give away details about that without giving the story away, so you’re just gonna have to trust me.The persona and actions of these guys did not scream spy to me at all….
(I might have had colored expectations because I love the movie Mr & Mrs Smith so much and I wanted this to be an M/M version of that)
So now we come to the end of the book and it actually picks up quite well. The book is also redeemed very nicely with its copious amounts of sexy-sexy LOL and they were H.O.T.
