Series: Bad Boy Ballers #1
Author: Rie Warren
Genre: Secret Baby, Second Chance, Sports Romance
Release Date: February 6, 2017

She’s NFL royalty. He’s the star quarterback of a tanking team. When she takes ownership, balls will roll . . . and the truth will out.

Rafe Macintyre—the rocket-armed Carolina Crush quarterback—has nothing to lose and everything to prove. All because of one woman . . . Miss Peyton Fox. When the tough-as-nails chick takes over as team owner, Rafe is ready to turn the epic-fail season into a Super Bowl championship. But the winning has to start with Peyton’s love.

No stranger to playas on and off the field, Peyton Fox is born and bred NFL royalty. Been there, done him, and called the plays even before she took up the Carolina Crush crown. She has zero time for a love life and even less time for games unless they happen between the endzones. Unfortunately, Rafe Macintyre has one hell of an arm, and he’s full of hot southern charm. He’s not too bad to drool over either, but it’s been five years since she tangled with him—a mistake she doesn’t plan on repeating.

The consequences of one night of rebellion will last a lifetime. It’s all fun and games until someone gets knocked up.

She’s NFL royalty. He’s the star quarterback of a tanking team. When she takes ownership, balls will roll …

When I read that in the blurb, it sold me on the book. Who wouldn’t want to read a story of a female lead in a male dominated sport?! #win And it didn’t disappoint. I really enjoyed this one and done, but not really second chance romance. Peyton and Rafe have history. History with consequences. History that Peyton would rather not become public. But as such things go …. (good luck with that lol)

One of the best things about this book is its dual POV. Without that, I’m pretty sure most people would still be wondering what the heck is up with Peyton. She’s a hard one to figure out. Honestly, there were times in the story I just had to laugh because she was sooooooooooo wishy-washy about her personal life and it didn’t quite add up to her professional persona. Because of that, I’m glad I was in her head during this journey.

The story is not too high on angst, but it has some mega feels to it. Some of them are hidden and some not so much. I’m not gonna go any further on that because I don’t want to give away the plot any more than I have. Just know, it’s a well crafted sports romance that doesn’t get bogged down with the sport itself, but yet paints a great picture of it. It’s a journey of two people meant for each other but scared. Scared of giving up control. And it’s also a story of forgiveness and redemption …. (you’ll have to read to get any more)

Million Baller Baby by Rie Warren
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Million Baller Baby was my first book by Rie Warren, but will not be my last.

I really enjoyed the story, as a woman who LOVES football, that aspect of the book was awesome. I felt my heart racing through crucial game times, and really enjoyed that the heroine loves the sport as much as I do. I had some issues with the story feeling jumpy. I didn’t understand Peyton’s reasoning for things half the time. I loved the chemistry the reader can feel, right off the bat between Peyton and Rafe.

A fun, quick, book.

The day I’d stashed a sexy black mesh jockstrap in Rafe’s locker, my pulse fluttered between my legs. Just reaching into his cubby, I sensed everything about the man. His sweat. His body. His muscles. His sheer dedication and total determination to win.

And by Jesus, he was winning with me.

When I’d stepped onto the training grounds later, Rafe caught immediate sight of me. A line of sweat drilled down the center of his jersey. His jaw flexed. His vivid green eyes flashed to mine. And the red flooding his cheeks beneath his deep tan wasn’t due to exertion.

After his workout, his PT, his shower, and what was probably a lot of bullshit macho baller-talk in the locker room, he knocked softly on my office door.

Slipping inside, he slid the lock home. Then he’d locked target on me.

Hiking up my skirt, growling in my ear, ripping off my panties, he’d sat me on my desk.

He’d stood between my spread thighs, shedding his jeans to reveal the tight see-through mesh cupping a cock that stretched the webbing until threads threatened to break.

“This what you wanted, Pey?”

My hand went to him. My tongue wet my lips. Speechless, I’d nodded my head. Bobblehead.

Yes, please.

He’d taken me then and there. On top of the desk with papers scattering. My MacBook almost shuttled off the edge. The jockstrap hauled down, his hips punched forward, I’d scrabbled to hold onto his shoulders, his ass, the lip of the desk as he tore into me with teeth-chattering, body-melting, pussy-convulsing force.

I’d come twice before Rafe let it all go.

God, he was magnificent—all strained muscles, tight craven face, corded neck, rough hands wrapped around my hips as he pulsed inside me over and over again.

His long mighty groan the last noise before he thrust a few more slow wet times.

His head fell to my breasts. “You naughty woman,” he whistled out between shallow breaths.

I’d folded my fingers through his hair, tugging him up. “It’s all your fault.”

“God, I hope so.” He snuck his thumb between my lips. “I hope you’re not like this with any other man, darlin’.”

That was right.

We hadn’t had the talk. The exclusive no-screwing-around-with-anyone-else conversation.

And that wasn’t the only serious discussion missing from our relationship.

What wasn’t win-win about Rafe and me? I was torn in two. I’d done something wrong and hadn’t told him yet.

And there was still one big black gap neither of us mentioned.
