The prickly former percussionist wasn’t supposed to steal his heart. With her distrust of lipstick and love of men’s pyjamas, she was everything playboy, Alex, didn’t want in a lover. At least, that’s what he thought when he bet her he could find her a hook up during their tour. Until he’s forced to watch the woman he’s come to desire leave the bar with her perfect guy, taking a piece of his already bruised and battered heart with her.

Now it’s up to the Sad Fridays’ rocker to use his passionate powers of persuasion to convince Zoe he’s more than her wingman. He’s her everything.

Love You Like That is a friends to lovers, rockstar romance. This is book four from the series Excess All Areas. You should start at book one so you have a better understanding of the characters and their backgrounds. This book focused on Alex King and Zoe Atkins.

Alex has a lot of insecurities and hides a lot of pain stemming all the way back to his childhood. He’s never felt quite loved or good enough. He keeps people at a distance and uses sex as an outlet but makes sure not to build a connection beyond pleasure. He’s such a good person and your heart will break for him when you hear about his personal traumas and experiences.

Zoe is talented, caring, and genuine, but she’s also angry and feeling defeated. She’s pretty antisocial and people mistake her serious nature for being a b****. She’s far from. She’s feeling lost right now, but she definitely hasn’t lost her passion.

The story was entertaining, unpredictable, and emotional with a mix of family drama, ex-drama, humor, and lots of steamy scenes. Their relationship is admirable. Built on trust, honesty, respect, and communication. All the key components to ensure a lifetime of happiness together. These two were really a sweet, lovable couple and it was nice to see them get their happily ever after.

Cole always does an exemplary job in her research on topics she covers. This book was no different. She was detailed in the musical instruments, sexuality, and hearing disabilities. And Cole has saved the best story for last…Ben and Chaya! She left us with bread crumbs of what is to come and I’m dying to get my hands on their book, so to say I’m looking forward to it is an understatement!

I’m running out of ways to express how incredibly talented Scarlett Cole is with the words. It’s not just how she uses the perfect blend of words to unfold an incredible heart wrenching and also heart-stoppingly uplifting storyline, but all the circumstances she weaves into the storyline that are just mind blowing!

Everything about this journey carried emotion, but I can’t really explain that in detail #sorrynotsorry because I’d really like for the whole world to read Zoe & Alex’s journey with a blank slate. This is one of those stories I wish I could magically erase all reviews and just leave ratings LOL so as not to have a single plot point spoiled. I was sucked into the storyline from almost the beginning, and I didn’t stop until it was done.

The emotion I felt the most while I read this story was contentment. Scarlett is an author you can trust will fully research and develop all circumstances she chooses for her characters. There was no plot-point that was OTT nor where there any that were not fully developed which allowed me as the reader to just get lost in the words and enjoy more than anything else.

The journey of Zoe & Alex was captivating and not the least bit predictable with a sprinkle of comic relief and good old fashion dramatics from others lol Their growth from friendship to more was sexy and sensual and their relationship bond was honest and solid. I just could not get enough of these two but then again, I pretty much say that about all of Scarlett’s characters. She makes her stories relatable and real and more often than not, I just want to jump in and become part of the story!

I love this woman’s word wizardry! I’ve loved it since the moment I read her first book in 2015 and my love has never wavered. Do yourselves a favor and be sure to invite her into your reading time, you will never regret it! #promise

Meet Scarlett Cole

The tattoo across my right hip says it all really. A Life Less Ordinary. Inked by the amazingly talented Luke Wessman at the Wooster Street Social Club (a.k.a. New York Ink). Why is it important? Well, it sums up my view on life. That we should all aspire to live a life that is less boring, less predictable. Be bold, and do something amazing. I’ve made some crazy choices. I’ve been a car maker, a consultant, and even a senior executive at a large retailer running strategy. Born in England, spent time in the U.S. and Japan, before ending up in Canada where I met my own, personal hero – all six and a half feet of him. Both of us are scorpios! Yeah, I know! Should have checked the astrological signs earlier, but somehow it works for us. We have two amazing kids, who I either could never part with or could easily be convinced to sell on e-bay.

I’ve wanted to be a writer for a really long time. Check through my office cupboards or my computer and you’ll find half written stories and character descriptions everywhere. Now I’m getting the chance to follow that dream.

I am represented by Beth Phelan at The Bent Agency, NY.
