A plot to usurp the throne from Victoria after a marriage comes to light. Isabel realizes rather quickly that if she were already married the men would not succeed with their plan. Jason reluctantly agrees to marry her, but in name only as he’s bound to learn the title to his brother’s son, the rightful heir. Eloping with the Princess by Robyn DeHart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Eloping with the Princess is a fun, unique historical romance. It is part of a series but reads just fine as a standalone. The history may be lost on a new reader, but it does not interrupt from enjoyment.
Isabel’s life is turned upside down when she finds out she has been living a lie. Her life threatened, she is placed in hiding with Jason. Then she realizes he could be the answer to his problems. Jason is selfless and kind of broken. Isabel helps him piece himself back together. He’s dreamy and so swoony.
This story was mostly well paced and had interesting characters. The storyline transports you to a fun, fictional place. I felt the ending was rushed, and wished it had been drawn out a bit longer. The chemistry is palpable and so much fun to explore. Recommended to the reader looking for a Princess and a different type of storyline.
