hmmmmmmm … okay, let me see if I can say this correctly lol I’m a fan of these two but this trilogy would have worked better, for me, as a duet with an extended epilogue/novella tagged on to the end. Sorta how some author will write a baby novella or wedding novella for an established couple at some point after their HEA. For me, this installment in the journey of Mateo & Grant added only an insight into them as a couple and how they navigated life, a chain of events if you will, with little to no tension or anticipation. I’m not sure what I was expecting out of this third book because in my head, they had an established HEA already with just a few loose ends, and I totally enjoyed reading more of them in this book, but it nags my brain to no end that I kept expecting something to twist in this book to justify it being a full-length novel in a trilogy, and that never happened.
As far as content, Grant and Mateo have a lot of life to figure out as a couple and Classified did give a lot of content of them navigating their lives. It was well written, as it always is with these authors, and yes, still a whole bunch of sexy to go around LOL
I’ve enjoyed the journey these authors created for Mateo and Grant. It filled my heart with hope and joy and pulled a lot of emotion from within. They make an excellent team, both the authors and Mateo and Grant!
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
We’re back with Panther and Solo in the third and final book in the The Elite series. Feelings are running ever deeper for Panther and Solo but there’s obstacles in their way; they’re part of a crack team of fighter pilots—the best of the best in the US—so they don’t need any distractions and need to be fully on their game, and then some, then there’s Panther’s father, Commander Hughes who surely won’t take the news of his son’s burgeoning relationship with a peer, who’s male to boot, too well will he? (view spoiler)[ Then throw in a sprinkling of self-flagellation and a hint of doubt into the mix. (hide spoiler)] It probably couldn’t have come at a worse time, but love conquers all or so they say, and here, with Panther and Solo, you get the feeling that that might just ring true. What I enjoyed most about this story is that we got to see them both in their little bubble, really just enjoying the heck out of each other and see the growing respect they had for one other which was quite evident to see. There was teasing, plenty of white hot encounters (who needs the hot Californian sun when you’ve got these two around?) and just the simple joy of being in each other’s orbit. With so much against them, and will they have a chance at really exploring what’s between them or will they punch out? You’ll need to read it to find out, but I think this was a fitting finale for our two men.
