BUCKLED, Book #2 in the TRAILS OF SIN series
Genre: Dark Cowboy Romance
Series: HEAs with no cliffhangers. Each book is a different couple. Must be read in order.
I protect what’s mine.
The ranch, my family, our buried secrets.
Nothing will stop me from reassembling the life that went terribly wrong.
Not the law.
Not our enemies.
Not even Maybe Quinn.
The gorgeous, quarrelsome journalist shouldn’t have meddled.
I shouldn’t have let her stay.
But she’s hiding something in those deceptive blue eyes.
Something deeper than her thirst for a news story.
I make a deal with her to buy time.
To unravel her lies. To play with her. To satisfy my darker appetites.
When she buckles beneath my belt, I’ll send her away.
Unless I buckle first.
More emotional and slow burning than the first book, Buckled was an incredible read. While the couple in this book’s story is fairly complete, there is an overall story arc that started in the first book, and continued in Buckled. It’s fascinating, and I’m dying for the conclusion.
Jarrett and Maybe have an interesting relationship. It’s based on half truths and secrets, but their connection is stronger than anything else. They take a while to trust and open up. I was enthralled as the story went on, and couldn’t believe it was over when I hit the last page. A few questions brought in the first book were answered, but I’m left with more questions that I hope will be answered in Booted. Buckled is a quickly paced story that sucks you in and holds on until the end. It *can* be read as a standalone, but I would never recommend reading Buckled without reading the first book, Knotted.

This might just be a book I read over and over again in the future! I almost didn’t give this book a chance because the first one was really #eyetwichy for me but in the end, I really wanted to see how these kids came thru on the other side of tragedy so ….
Soooooooo much chemistry with these two. I mean seriously, pantie melting edge of your seat type chemistry. One of the best I hate that I lust you story-lines I’ve read in a while!
I’m just gonna say one thing about Jarret … he delivered in spades the whole dark brooding kinky cowboy personality. *GAH* But let’s talk about Maybe for a little bit. WOW. She’s a woman everybody should get behind. She is captivating and strong and sexy and oh so sassy when she needed to but she also had a vulnerable side. #mykindawoman That side she kept at bay but when it came to Jarret, she just couldn’t. He saw thru her. And it was phenomenal. Again …. INTENSE!
Now ….. secrets and lies, they will eat a person/family/friendship/anything from the inside out #TRUTH And boy do we have some of those in this trilogy. We already know some. Some get unraveled. Some get more twisted. Some are added to the pile that is already way out of control …. Again, CAPTIVATED. I was completely raptured by this story from beginning to end!
