“Strip everything away from us and love is what’s left. It’s what we get to keep.”
We thought things couldn’t get worse but the passing days proved us wrong.
I could handle the public backlash and the cops at my door.
I could handle the doubt and disbelief of our friends. As long as we were together, I thought I could handle anything.
As the threats loomed closer, our days together dwindled away. After losing everything that mattered to me, I had to ask myself how much sacrifice was too much?
How far would I go for him?

Almost Us is part two of the Almost Duet. This story continued to be angsty, tragic, and emotionally charged. Shade threw us one last plot twist, and it was not what I was expecting. What a roller coaster of emotions throughout this duet. My biggest thing was I needed to know WHY?! WHY did Oliver do it?! We will always be left to wonder and it eats me alive not knowing, but I guess I would pick the happily ever after Ella finally had over knowing why. The Epilogue also leaves us with a sense of deja vu and wondering if history will FULLY repeat itself.
Again I was left with a GIANT book hangover and an anxious, achy feeling. But Shade made a point to show that love always prevails. I have been a big fan of Shade’s comedies but I’m quickly realizing how well she writes angst and suspense too! After this roller coaster though, I am def thinking we need a new comedy thrown our way!
MEET THE AUTHOR
I’m a full time author who is hopelessly addicted to iced coffee, love stories, sunshine, and men with full sexy lips, though not necessarily in that order. A voracious reader since I sounded out my first word, I started writing as a teenager and rediscovered my love of writing as an adult. Originally from Indianapolis, I now live in a small Kentucky town.
